Samsung Galaxy S Glide has just been officially introduced in Canada. We expected the smartphone to go live in the first week of November, but it looks like Rogers was too busy launching the Motorola RAZR and Samsung Galaxy S II LTE.

Anyway, Canadian customers can now purchase the Samsung Galaxy S Glide from Rogers for as low as $149.99 (110 EUR) with a new three-year agreement.

However, Rogers seems to offer a better deal on the Galaxy S II LTE, which is now up for sale for $179.99 (135 EUR) on select three-year plans.

Although the 4G-enabled Galaxy S Glide is now exclusively available from Rogers, the smartphone might be offered by other carriers as well in a not so distant future.

The device comes with a brilliant 4.0-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, and a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

With Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on board, the smartphone provides users with a fast Web browsing experience and complete connectivity.

Today's launch of the Galaxy S Glide demonstrates Samsung's commitment to industry leading innovation, offering consumers technology that helps to make their lives easier,” said Paul Brannen, Vice President of Samsung Mobile Canada.

Unlike the Galaxy S II LTE that embeds a powerful 1.5 GHz dual core processor, the Galaxy S Glide is equipped with a 1 GHz dual core CPU. It also packs 8 GB of internal memory, 1 GB of RAM, 1 GB of ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion.

The Galaxy S Glide is fully compatible with Rogers HSPA+ network, hence it makes writing emails, surfing the web, posting updates and playing games super fast.

Connectivity has become so much more important to Canadians. With its dual- core processor and complete business connectivity, Samsung has enabled on-the-go Canadians to be more mobile while still being able to download, chat, email, post, search, surf, and so much more,” added Brannen.

Software-wise, the smartphone comes bundled with Exchange ActiveSync, Quickoffice,Google Maps, Navigator and GoogleTalk, as well as access to more than 300,000 apps via Android Market.
