South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is getting ready for the launch of a new Android-based handset in India, in the form of Galaxy S Duos 3.

The mobile phone will arrive on shelves in the country with a price tag of Rs. 7,999 ($132/€100) attached to it, as a Mumbai-based mobile phone retailer Mahesh Telecom has revealed in a recent tweet.

The new mobile phone appears to hit shelves with about the same hardware specs as its predecessor, though it should run under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box.

When made available, the phone will sport a 1GHz dual-core processor, as well as dual-SIM capabilities, and a 1500mAh battery.

Moreover, it should sport a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen display, as well as a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash on the back, as AndroidOS notes in a recent article.

Samsung Galaxy S Duos 3 is also said to include a GPS receiver (with Glonass), support for 3G networks, and the usual set of connectivity capabilities. However, the rest of its hardware specifications are not known for the time being, it seems.

The handset has yet to be officially confirmed in India, something that might happen in the next several days, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
