Unveiled back in January, Samsung Galaxy S Advance already made its debut at this year’s Mobile World Congress exhibition. However, the smartphone has yet to hit shelves in the following weeks.

No later than last week the smartphone was spotted at the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) with AT&T’s bands, which might indicate that the carrier will be releasing this mid-range Android smartphone by the end of the month.

More recently, Samsung Germany officially announced the upcoming availability of the Galaxy S Advance in the country.

The company stated that the smartphone was expected to hit shelves in March for a suggested retail price of 494 Euro (650 US dollars).

For the time being, there’s no telling if any of the German mobile operators will carry the Samsung Galaxy S Advance, but more details might be available within the next several days.

Samsung Galaxy S Advance will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, but is likely to receive an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade by the end of the year. In addition, the smartphone runs Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz 4.0 UI.

According to Samsung, upon request, the smartphone will be delivered with NFC (Near Field Communications) capability.

The Galaxy S Advance is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1 GHz, and packs 8/16 GB of internal memory, 768 MB of RAM and 2GB of ROM.

It is also worth mentioning the microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), as well as the 5-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

It has a large 4.0-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, and that features Corning Gorilla Glass coating. The phone also supports Wi-Fi and HSDPA, TV-out, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP support, as well as built-in GPS with A-GPS and microUSB port.
