Officially announced by T-Mobile two weeks ago, Samsung Galaxy S 4G has just been confirmed at Walmart

Even though the carrier hasn't disclosed the smartphone's price yet, it seems that Walmart thinks otherwise, as the retailer just leaked the phone's price leaflet which mentions that the Galaxy S 4G will be available for $148.88 with a new 2-year service agreement.

Other price options unveiled by Walmart include $248.88 with 2-year Flexpay agreement or $650.00 without contract.

The price options presented by Walmart might be suitable for customers who wish to upgrade their Vibrant phones.

However, it is unclear when exactly the smartphone hits the shelves and how many other outlets will have the device available for purchase.

The Galaxy S 4G is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 (Hummingbird platform) and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo platform, which is a little bit odd, as Android 2.3 Gingerbread has already been launched.

The device comes with a large 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors, 480 x 800 pixels resolution, Gorilla Glass protective display, TouchWiz 3.0 UI, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, as well as Swype text input.

Other key features of the smartphone include: HSDPA 21 Mbps, HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, DLNA function, 1GB ROM, 512 MB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 16GB card included), 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, touch focus, face, smile detection and camcorder (720p@30fps), as well as GPS with A-GPS support.

According to the carrier, Galaxy S 4G will be one of the fastest smartphones in North America, capable of delivering peak download speeds of up to 21Mbps.

No details regarding the phone's release date have emerged yet, but T-Mobile stated that additional information would be available “in the coming weeks.”
