Officially introduced in the United States during Super Bowl, Samsung Galaxy Note is now available for pre-order via AT&T and Best Buy.

Unveiled earlier last month, Samsung Galaxy Note will be available for purchase through AT&T starting February 19. Customers who wish to pre-order the smartphone can do so for no less than $299.99 (230 EUR) with a new two-year agreement.

However, major retailer Best Buy also throws in a free protective case for each customer who pre-orders and activates the Galaxy Note. The free case is valued at $29.99 (23 EUR). In addition, Best Buy offers a free $50 gift card for each Galaxy Note pre-order.

According to Best Buy, both black and white Samsung Galaxy Note versions are scheduled to ship after February 19. Customers should know that this smartphone requires a minimum data service starting at $15 per month.

Samsung Galaxy Note will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board, but the Korean handset manufacturer confirmed plans to deploy an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in Q1 2012.

Although Samsung has yet to announce the exact release date of the upgrade, rumor has it that this won’t be available until March.

The Galaxy Note is the first phablet launched on the market. The device features a large 5.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 800 x 1280 pixels resolution and 16 million colors. Corning Gorilla Glass coating is included as well.

Hardware-wise, the Galaxy Note is one of the most powerful Android-based smartphones available on the market. The phone is equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and packs 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

On a side note, the Galaxy Note is about to make its debut in Canada as well. According to the latest hearsay, the smartphone should go on sale at Bell on February 14.
