14 DAY TRIAL // There has been quite the ruckus yesterday when Samsung Gulf's Twitter account denied the fact that Galaxy Note II would eventually receive Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
Still one of the most popular phablets on the market, Samsung Galaxy Note II is still a decent device even by today's standards.
The Galaxy Note II was unveiled back in August 2012 and made it to market one month later. Since Google recommends handset makers to offer major updates for around 18 months since their release, we didn't expect the South Korean company to upgrade Galaxy Note II to Lollipop.
The update was only confirmed by various rumors coming from sources familiar with Samsung's Android update plans, but the handset maker didn't really issue any official statements.
Yesterday's confirmation that Galaxy Note II won't be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update was extremely disappointing for those who still own Samsung's most popular phablet.

However, things aren't as bleak as we initially thought. Another Twitter account belonging to Samsung has just announced that the Galaxy Note II is still on track to receive Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
Samsung Spain says that Galaxy Note II will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop if nothing wrong happens during the update process.
So, after several months of complete silence, we now have two statements that deny each other. This is typical for Samsung, as the South Korean company rarely confirmed major OS update for its smartphones, apart from current flagships that are usually the first to be upgraded.
The Galaxy Note II is really worth getting Android 5.0 Lollipop, so here is hoping Samsung manages to optimize the experience for this old phablet. We will keep an eye out for any additional details on the matter, so stay tuned.
