It looks like durability is important for Samsung

Samsung has just released another video that shows how durable the Galaxy Note 4 should be. This is the second video with the same theme that the South Korean company releases in the last couple of days.

Shortly after Samsung showed that the Galaxy Note 4 is not an easy to bend smartphone, the company is back with yet another video that demos the durability aspect of the phablet.

If you haven’t guessed it yet, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has just taken the drop test, and if you want to see what happens when the phablet meets a concrete surface, then read on.

The method used by Samsung for this drop test implies the fall of a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone on a floor made of solid granite with a rough surface, from various heights and angles. In addition, the Galaxy Note 4 has undergone the same drop test on solid metal floors with a smooth surface.

As anyone can notice by watching the drop test captured on video, the Galaxy Note 4 continues to function correctly even after it’s being repeatedly dropped from different heights.

Obviously, these repeated drops are taking their tolls on the phone’s metal frame, which becomes heavily chipped the more it’s being dropped.

The phablet has taken the tumble test as well

The good news is the display doesn’t seem to crack even when the smartphone falls flat on the screen. This proved to be a real issue for iPhone 6, which did crack when dropped directly on the display.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 seems to be the first Note series phone that comes with a metal frame, which is supposed to offer better protection against accidental drops.

The Galaxy Alpha is another Samsung smartphone that packs a similar metal frame, but this doesn’t seem to apply to all high-end handsets launched by the South Korean company.

Anyway, if you planned to grab the Galaxy Note 4 when it becomes available in your country, rest assured that the phablet is sturdy enough to withstand drops from 1-2 meter heights. It’s also worth mentioning that the video released by Samsung also shows the Galaxy Note 4 taking and passing the tumble test.

Here is an excerpt taken from the video’s description: “Samsung makes and sells hundreds of millions of smart devices every year, and part of its efforts to make sure consumers can have peace of mind using it, Samsung runs rigorous tests both during and after development and production.”
