The phablet withstands a 100kg (220lb) man sitting on it

If you’re concerned about that your phablet might bend when it’s carried in your back pocket, you shouldn’t worry too much if you choose to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

We’re not that sure about the iPhone 6 Plus, which has been recently the laugh of the stock due the fact that it’s easy to bend. While we don’t really agree with everything that’s been said about the iPhone 6 Plus, it’s clear that the smartphone does bend easier than other phablets available on the market.

The newly launched Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is one of the phablets that even if it slightly bends when sit upon, it returns to its initial form immediately.

According to the company, “to make sure you can rely on its devices, including Galaxy Note 4, Samsung runs rigorous tests both during and after development and production.”

The Galaxy Note 4 tested in the video passed the human weight test with ease. The test simulates the Galaxy Note 4 being repeatedly sat on; in this case, a 100kg man sitting on it several times. Obviously, it wasn’t a real person, but a robot that simulates a 100kg (220lb) man.

Apparently, the Galaxy Note 4 doesn’t have any issues when sat upon and Samsung claims the reason for which the phablet is so strong is the metal frame, the magnesium bracket and the “mutually reinforcing structure between the parts.”

The Galaxy Note 4 takes the three-point test as well

Aside from the human weight test, the Galaxy Note 4 has taken the three-point bend test. Basically, Samsung propped up the smartphone using bars on each end and applied enough pressure in the middle to break three pencils at once (about 25kgf).

Even though the Galaxy Note 4 has a larger 5.7-inch display, it’s actually smaller in size than the iPhone 6 Plus which features a 5.5-inch display.

However, the former is thicker at 8.5mm in comparison with iPhone 6 Plus that’s only 7.1mm thin. This might be one of the reasons Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus bends much easier than Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4.

The materials used to manufacture the handsets are also important aspects that offer a smartphone the sturdiness it needs to withstand certain bend tests.

Either way it looks like Samsung has decided to take advantage of everything bad that’s been written about Apple’s smartphones, even if they are not quite true. What do you think about Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 4 butt test that takes a jab at Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus?
