The accessory will be sold separately to those who need one

With less than a month left until Samsung Galaxy Note 4’s unveiling, the leaks continue to flood the Internet, but the last one doesn’t necessarily aims Galaxy Note fans.

Apparently, Samsung is working to bring a very special accessory to those who purchase the Galaxy Note 4, which is likely to sell separately when the phablet gets released next month.

The folks over at SamMobile have just been tipped on a unique phone cover that would greatly help visually impaired when walking.

The so-called Ultrasonic Cover is something that Samsung aims to bring on the market the same day Galaxy Note 4 goes on sale, but for now it appears to be just a prototype.

You may wonder how that is helping the visually impaired who can afford purchasing the Galaxy Note 4. Well, it appears that while the Ultrasonic Cover will not “diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease” of any kind, it can detect nearby objects and provide the person carrying it with enough feedback so he/she can walk safer.

The tipster informing SamMobile of this Ultrasonic Cover also provided them with the full description of the accessory. You can read an excerpt of it below:

“The Product cannot replace a cane and should never be used as a mobility aid or substitute for any mobility aid tool. It must always be used in combination with a cane, a dog guide, or a human guide because, by itself, it does not provide information necessary for safe travel.

“The Product does not detect drop-offs. When doing exercises that require hand scanning, make sure that you use an area without steps or drop-offs, and without car or pedestrian traffic.

“The Product does not provide the scope and detail of information obtained through vision and the coverage area/range may vary due to circumstances.

“Users should always remove headphones from their ears when approaching and crossing intersections or when walking through areas that include business driveways, parking lots, or alleyswhere traffic might cross the path of travel.”

It looks like Samsung is more and more interested in the health of its customers. Including a heart rate monitor and health apps and services into some of its previous phones was a smart thing to do even if some may not see these as being that useful.

Here is hoping that the Ultrasonic Cover will be made available for other smartphones as well if it proves to be useful for Galaxy Note 4 owners.
