South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is expected to make the next member of the Galaxy Note family of smartphones official in early September in Berlin, during the IFA 2014 trade fair, and leaked close-up photos with the device are now available for your viewing pleasure.

There’s no official confirmation on this device as of now, and there’s no telling whether said images show the actual smartphone or not, but the phone that can be see there appears to be in line with what previous rumors on the matter suggested.

Said leaked images, available courtesy of GSMArena, show that the upcoming mobile phone might sport about the same looks as the Galaxy Note 3 did last year, but there are a series of design changes as well.

For example, while the front of the phone resembles that of its predecessor, the rear and sides are different, despite the fact that Samsung will use the same plastic back plate with leather-like texture.

However, it appears the Galaxy Note 4 will feature a metallic stripe wrapped around its side, the same as the long-rumored Samsung Galaxy Alpha will sport.

The leaked images have also confirmed that the upcoming device will sport an S Pen, along with a microUSB 3.0 port, which is visible at the bottom of the device, alongside a speaker grille.

A heart rate monitor appears to have been included on the back of the device, next to the camera (which does not come as a surprise, since Galaxy S5 was also launched with such a sensor on the back).

Rumor has it that Galaxy Note 4 will boast a 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a Quad HD resolution, which will make the phone a strong competitor against LG’s G3 flagship.

Moreover, Samsung might pack it with a Snapdragon 805 processor, as well as with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory, paired with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

Galaxy Note 4 is also expected to go official with a 16MP rear camera capable of recording videos in 4k resolution. The smartphone should run under Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box, with Samsung’s own UI and exclusive applications loaded on top.

According to the latest reports on this upcoming smartphone, Samsung will make it official on September 3 at IFA 2014 in Berlin, yet no official confirmation on the handset’s hardware specs has emerged until now. However, more on this should emerge soon, so stay tuned.
