Sprint has promised customers that it will bring Wi-Fi Calling feature to most of its popular smartphones, but for the time being, only two devices have been blessed with this capability.

The US-based carrier rolled out Wi-Fi Calling via OTA update to Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and Galaxy Mega, but this happened more than a month ago.

Initially, Sprint stated that the new feature would be added to Samsung Galaxy Note 3 devices as well, but the update failed to arrive until today.

AndroidPolice reports that Sprint has just kicked off the rollout of the promised update that brings the Wi-Fi Calling feature. The official changelog of firmware version N900PVPUCNC5 confirms that the only new feature included in the update is Wi-Fi Calling.

According to Sprint, the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it may take a while until it reaches all Samsung Galaxy Note 3 devices. Once you are notified of the update’s availability, simply follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

As soon as the update is applied, you will be able to make Wi-Fi calls, but you will need to visit your Sprint account settings and register your Wi-Fi networks in order for the new feature to work.
