Samsung’s latest Android-based smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3, is said to pack a Super AMOLED display with a PenTile matrix, the same as the Galaxy S4 did before it.

The new device was made official last week at the IFA 2013 show in Berlin, yet Samsung did not provide specific info on its screen.

The guys over at Rbmen, however, discovered that the smartphone features the aforementioned PenTile screen, unlike the Galaxy Note II which was launched with an RGB matrix.

As SamMoble explains, the screen features the same PenTile arrangement of green pixels alternating with red and blue pixels. However, the blue and red subpixels are disposed in a diamond shape, which results in higher pixel density when compared to standard PenTile displays.

Hopefully, it won’t be long before we have an official word from Samsung on this, so stay tuned for more on the matter.
