Samsung introduced the Galaxy Note 3 Neo in India only a few days ago and Android enthusiasts could pre-book the smartphone for no less than Rs 40,900 ($660 / €480) outright.

However, beginning today, customers in India will be able to pre-order the Galaxy Note 3 Neo for only Rs 38,990 ($625 / €455), which is slightly lower than the initial price.

Unfortunately, Samsung did not offer any details on the smartphone's release date, so we're still left with the latest hearsay pointing to a late February / early March release.

As fonearena points out, the lite version of Galaxy Note 3 will ship in India with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, though we suspect that the smartphone will eventually receive a KitKat upgrade in the coming months.

The only downside of the Galaxy Note 3 Neo is the fact that it does not offer dual-SIM support, which is one of the most requested features in emerging markets such as India.

Apart from that, the device is pretty decent. The phablet sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and only 267ppi (pixel density).

Hardware-wise, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo comes equipped with a hexa-core Exynos 5260 chipset that accommodates 1.3GHz quad-core processor and a 1.7GHz dual-core CPU.

Moreover, the smartphone packs a Mali-T624 graphics processing unit, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

There's also an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for video calls.

When it comes to connectivity, the Indian version of Galaxy Note 3 Neo offers both 3G and Wi-Fi support, along with Bluetooth 4.0, NFC (Near Field Communication) and microUSB.
