It looks like Samsung doesn't plan to bring a dumbed down Galaxy Note 3 on the market, instead the South Korean company will expand its lineup of phablets with a new device that offers very good features as well.

Previously rumored as Galaxy Note 3 Lite, the new device's full specs sheet has just leaked via GSMArena and points to a high-end smartphone after all.

The upcoming phablet will be launched as Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo and will be the first mobile phone to feature a “hexa-core” processor.

This means that the phone's chipset will accommodate a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz and another quad-core processor running at 1.3GHz.

This may sound like a downgrade from the Galaxy Note 3, but Galaxy Note 3 Neo's processor might be a bit more energy-efficient than its predecessors.

It will also be interesting to see how it fares on its own in everyday use and when put against other modern CPUs already available on the market (Qualcomm Snapdragon 800).

Aside from the hexa-core processor, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo has been confirmed to pack 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

On the back, the phablet sports an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front, there will be a secondary 1.9-megapixel camera for video calls.

The Galaxy Note 3 Neo seems to feature the same screen as the older Galaxy Note 2 model. The smartphone is confirmed to boast a 5.55-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with support for HD (720p) resolution.

It will also pack the famous S Pen and will be powered by a high-capacity 3100 mAh Li-Ion battery. Other highlights of the phablet will include: Bluetooth 4.0 and HSPA+ (42Mbps) connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, as well as microUSB.

There's no word on the exact release date, but we expect Samsung to make the Galaxy Note 3 Neo official next month at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 trade fair.
