14 DAY TRIAL // It looks like the success of the Galaxy Note convinced Samsung to build a sequel as soon as possible. The Galaxy Note 2 has just been tipped for an October release.
The guys over at UbuntuLife claim the design of the next Galaxy Note smartphone will be inspired by Samsung’s Android flagship handset, the Galaxy S III.
Samsung fans who thought that a 5.3-inch is too much for a smartphone will probably be shocked that the South Korean company plans to release the Galaxy Note 2 with a 5.5-inch display.
Rumor has it that Galaxy Note 2’s 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display will support WSXGA+ (1680 x 1050 pixels) resolution and 360 pixel density.
It appears that Samsung decided against a full HD display given the fact that the human eye cannot perceive any difference in case the pixel density is over 300. Moreover, the large display will be of Super AMOLED (PenTile) quality to make it last longer.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is said to be powered by an Exynos 5250 processor built on AMR Cortex-A15 processor architecture, though this information has yet to be confirmed.
The smartphone will also boast an 8-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. The phone’s camera will also feature enhanced lens and image sensor for better pictures.
Last but not least, the Galaxy Note 2 is likely to be delivered with LTE support and an impressive 1.5GB of RAM. There are no details on the storage amount, but we can safely assume it will come with microSD card slot for memory expansion.
Software-wise, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will come pre-loaded with the same technologies and apps offered by Galaxy S III, including S Beam, S Voice, Smart Stay, Music Hub, AllShare Play, NFC (Near Field Communications) and others. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
