There are plenty of tablet models on the market today and when choosing one, customers might think of price, screen size and overall performance. And those looking to acquire the fastest in the bunch, should know British publication Which? has performed a bunch of raw Geekbench tests to determine which one is the briskest.

The results are quite interesting. Some of you might have expected to see the Apple iPad Air come on top, but like in the battery-life test, the slate manages to come in at number two.

So which tablet managed to score the most points in the Geekbench tests scores? The Samsung Galaxy 10.1 (2014) Edition, by grabbing 2856 points.

Bear in mind that Samsung has just pushed out a line of new tablets, so if their predecessor managed to top the Geekbench battery of tests, the most recent models would probably be able to provide quite spectacular results.

As I told you, Apple’s iPad Air managed to get the second position with 2687 points while at number three we see the Google Nexus 7 (2013) with 2675. The difference in points between the triad isn't spectacular and, who knows, it might even get reversed if the test parameters were changed a little.

Interestingly enough, the Advent Vega Tegra Note 7 (NVIDIA’s tablet) finished at number five, being overtaken by Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 model.

When it launched the tablet, NVIDIA claimed this was the fastest 7-incher available on the market today, but the Nexus 7 (2013) seems to beat it without much fuss (and marketing strategies for that matter).

An interested presence in the top was the Tesco Hudl, which impressively managed to overthrow the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8GB (807 points) and Apple’s iPad 2 16GB (502 points) with its own 1926 points. So customers looking for a slate that won’t exhaust their savings might want to check it out.

Last but not least, we should tell you to take benchmarks with a grain of salt. The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) Edition was one of the slates rumored to have been involved in a benchmark cheating scandal.

Apparently, Samsung coded in its firmware that the CPU would be allowed to perform at higher levels, while some benchmarking programs were doing their business.
