Samsung has just announced the most affordable Android smartphone to feature a Super AMOLED display, the Galaxy M Style. The company confirmed that the handset will be available for purchase for around $500 (385 EUR), but did not reveal the exact amount.

For the time being, Samsung plans to make the Galaxy M Style available only in South Korea through all three major carriers in the country, SK Telecom, LG U+ and KT. Customers will be able to choose from three color schemes: Platinum Silver, Blue Black, or Lavender Pink.

Unfortunately, there’s no word on a possible release of the smartphone outside South Korea, but it won’t come as a surprise to see this one being released in Europe and/or North America.

Samsung Galaxy M Style comes with a 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that boasts 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 16 million colors support.

The smartphone is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and might lack the (in)famous TouchWiz user interface, but this has yet to be confirmed. It’s probably too early to consider the device for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, but anything is possible.

On the inside, the Galaxy M Style features a single core processor clocked at 1 GHz, 4GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The Galaxy M Style comes with dual cameras, allowing for video calls and chats whenever on the go. There’s a 3-megapixel main photo snapper with face and smile detection as well as HD (720p) video recording capabilities, but also a secondary VGA front-facing camera.

The handset sports a DMB TV tuner as well, which is a standard features included in all smartphones launched on the South Korean market. The phone’s 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery has yet to be rated by the handset manufacturer.
