One of the hottest mobile phones currently available on the market and running under the Google Android operating system is the Samsung Galaxy i7500. Although it is the first (and only) such device the South Korean mobile phone maker launched, it is poised to attract a lot of users on its side, and it seems that it might not be alone on this.

Rumors about a second Android phone from Samsung have cycled around the web for quite some time now, and they might soon prove to be real. The follower of Galaxy would be none other than the Galaxy Lite, featuring model number i5700, and it seems that the device is set to be launched in France as soon as next month.

The news on the near release date of Samsung Galaxy Lite i5700 comes from FrAndroid, which also posts a photo of the mobile phone, along with a series of specifications. Interestingly enough, although the “Lite” part in the handset's name would suggest that we're looking at a less-packed phone, it seems that the i7500 and the i5700 siblings might not be that different after all.

What the Samsung Galaxy Lite is supposedly coming to the market with includes 3G+ (HSDPA) connectivity, Bluetooth capabilities, Wi-Fi connectivity, built-in GPS receiver, and pre-loaded Google services (it will probably feature the “with Google” logo). At the same time, we should mention the presence of a trackball on the handset, and the lack of a Home button.

In case the handset will indeed come to France's Bouygues Telecom in October, it shouldn't be too long before some official and more consistent details on it become available. Until that happens, we should mention that the Galaxy Lite is expected to arrive to the carrier after another Android phone gets launched, namely the HTC Tatoo (which is reportedly the Click we've seen before). Although a lower-end, the phone should boast 3G connectivity, GPS receiver, and support for mobile TV and a 3-megapixel photo snapper. No details on the pricing of the two devices have emerged.
