Good news for photographers in India who are in search for the ultimate camera phone, as Samsung is about to launch the Galaxy K zoom Android smartphone in the next few weeks.

The Galaxy K zoom was officially unveiled back in April and Samsung confirmed that the smartphone would eventually go on sale sometime in June.

While the smartphone will not be available in India this month, it’s still nice that Samsung was able to bring the camera phone in the country with just one month delay since its official release on the market.

Unfortunately, for the time being, there are no details on the price tag, but at least we know where customers will be able to get it from.

It appears that Samsung Galaxy K zoom will be exclusively available through Amazon India, BGR reports. The online retailer does not mention anything regarding the phone’s launch date or price tag.

However, Samsung and Amazon will offer a Galaxy K zoom for free through the Amazon Social Contest, which is set to end on July 13. This could be the date that the camera phone might go on sale at Amazon India, or at least around this timeframe.

Potential customers who would like to know when exactly the smartphone will be available for pre-order at Amazon India can register with their emails to get more details on the matter.

The Galaxy K zoom is supposedly the best Samsung camera phone. As such, the device comes with a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera that features both auto and manual autofocus, 10x optical zoom, OIS (optical image stabilization), Xenon and LED flash, as well as full HD (1080p) video recording.

Obviously, the smartphone also packs a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls. It’s also worth mentioning that the main camera on the back features retractable lenses.

Moving on to the hardware specs, the Galaxy K zoom does not disappoint. The smartphone is equipped with a hexa-core Exynos 5260 chipset that accommodates a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and a 1.7GHz dual-core CPU inside.

Furthermore, the phone packs 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB). Some may argue that the default storage is not enough for a camera phone, but at least there’s an option to expand that storage.

Other highlights of the Galaxy K zoom include 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD (720p) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating, 2430 mAh battery, LTE support and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
