At the end of April, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics officially announced its latest camera phone, in the form of Galaxy K Zoom, and the device is now officially confirmed for Singapore.

The company has officially unveiled that the new device will land on shelves in this country as soon as May 31, and that all three major wireless carriers in the country will add it to their offerings.

Moreover, the phone has become available for pre-order today, with a price tag of S$798 ($637US/€465) attached to it, without line contract and inclusive of GST, as hardwarezone.com.sg reports.

The handset can be reserved through said telcos, as well as via selected consumer electronics and IT stores, through photo dealers, and in Samsung Experience Stores.

Users who would like to pre-order the smartphone through brick-and-mortar stores will need to place a deposit of S$50 per device.

Moreover, it seems that those who will successfully pre-order the phone will receive an Accessory Gift Pack worth S$148 along with it. The package will include an Autopop Protective Cover, along with a 3100mAh battery pack, and an 8GB microSD memory card.

However, it seems that the offer will be available only in limited quantities, which means that users interested in taking advantage of it will have to hurry up.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom has been announced with a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display capable of delivering a 720 x 1280 pixels resolution.

Moreover, the device is powered by a hexa-core Exynos 5260 chipset, comprised by a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor and a 1.7GHz dual-core Cortex A15 CPU, with Mali-T624 graphics.

Samsung Galaxy K Zoom also sports 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot capable of accommodating cards of up to 64GB.

The main selling point of this device is its 20.7-megapixel back camera, which features Xenon & LED flash, Optical Image Stabilization, and full HD video recording capabilities. Moreover, the handset comes with a 2MP front camera for making video calls.

The mobile phone has also been launched with 4G LTE connectivity, HSDPA: 42 Mbps, HSUPA: 5.76 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, along with NFC, built-in GPS receiver, and a Li-Ion 2430mAh battery.

The new Samsung Galaxy K Zoom runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right from the start, with Samsung’s own set of customizations and features loaded on top.
