South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has launched yet another smartphone running under the Android operating system, namely the recently leaked Galaxy J.

The mobile phone was announced in Japan as part of the winter lineup of wireless carrier NTT Docomo, where it will join the Galaxy Note 3 and other appealing devices.

Samsung Galaxy J arrives on shelves as an enhanced version of the Qualcomm-based Galaxy S4, and features model number SC-02F at the wireless carrier.

The new device was made official with a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display and with the 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor packed inside.

Furthermore, it sports 3GB of RAM inside, the same as Galaxy Note 3, as well as a 2600mAh battery. No info on the internal memory of the device has been provided, but we do know that it offers support for microSD memory card slots of up to 64GB.

On the back, Samsung Galaxy J features a 13-megapixel camera, with support for full HD video recording, complemented by a 2MP front camera for making video calls.

The smartphone arrives in Japan with support for a series of local services as well, including NTT Docomo’s 150Mbps Xi LTE network, One-Seg, NOTTV, and FeliCa NFC.

As SamMobile notes, the smartphone will be put up for sale in three different color flavors in the country, namely Coral Pink, Satin White, and Lapis Blue. The mobile phone measures 137mm x 70mm x 8.6mm and weighs 146 grams.

Samsung Galaxy J is powered by Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system and should arrive on the market in Japan before the end of October, NTT Docomo announced.
