Good news for Android fans who value good smartphones priced decently, as Samsung has a new device in the pipeline, which is the sequel to a popular handset, the Galaxy Grand Prime.

According to a new report, a certain Samsung Galaxy Grand Value (VE) with model number SM-G531Y has just been certified in Taiwan.

Even though the certification doesn't offer us too many details on the phone's spec sheet, it looks like the folks over at WinFuture got their hands on some press renders showing the alleged Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition.

Along with these press pictures, some info on the hardware inside the smartphone emerged as well. According to the info leaked, the Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition has only one component different than the standard model and that's the chipset.

Aside from that, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition is almost certain to ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, while the standard model is still stuck on Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

No word on availability and pricing options yet

The good news is Galaxy Grand Prime has already been “confirmed” for an Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade by the rumor mill, though we're still waiting for Samsung to release it.

Moving on to hardware, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, while the Value Edition will pack a 64-bit quad-core Marvell PXA1908 chipset inside.

The rest of the phone's specs are said to be similar to those included in the original model. This means that we expect the Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition to come with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution.

It might also packs a 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera on the front.

The Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition might also come with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.
