It turns out that at CES 2015 Samsung didn't reveal its newest flagship, the Galaxy S6. So are you missing Sammy making a new smartphone announcement?

You shouldn't, because the Korean tech giant has unleashed upon South Korea (for the time being) a new member of the Galaxy Grand series.

The Galaxy Grand Max breaks cover

The newcomer is called the Galaxy Grand Max and will go on sale in the country for around $290 / €244. For the time being we don’t know whether Samsung has plans of rolling out the device in other markets, as well, but we’ll keep you posted.

Anyway, the Galaxy Grand Max sports a 5.2-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and draws power from an unnamed 1.2GHz quad-core processor (in all likelihood it’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, but until Samsung says this is the case we can’t be sure).

The handset dons a 13MP camera with LED flash on the back, while in the front we have a 5MP snapper with a wide 120-degree viewing angle dedicated to taking selfies.

Other additional features include LTE Cat.4, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card for memory expansion.

The handset weighs 161 g / 0.35 lbs and its measurements are 146 x 74.8 x 7.9 mm / 5.7 x 2.9 x 0.3 inches.

The Galaxy Grand Max isn't the only smartphone Samsung launched during the first days of the 2015. In India, the device maker pulled the veil off the Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7.

These are two handsets with 5.5-inch and 5-inch displays, respectively, taking advantage of a quad-core SoC clocked at 1.2GHz fitted with 2GB / 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (in both cases).

The duo has been outfitted with a metal frame, and compared to the Galaxy Grand Max, it will sell for higher prices.
