South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics appears almost certain to be working on the release of a premium handset in the not-too-distant future, and a newly leaked image with the device has reportedly leaked online.

The photo, available courtesy of PhoneArena, shows the mobile phone next to the already available Galaxy S5 flagship, so that users can have a look at the differences between the two.

The yet unannounced smartphone, dubbed Samsung Galaxy F, appears to sport a very thin bezel and a screen larger than that of Galaxy S5, while also said to come to the market with a metallic body.

Of course, there’s no telling whether the allegedly leaked photo is real or not, and we’ll have to take it with a grain of salt for the time being.

However, considering the fact that other mobile phone makers out there have already released smartphones with similarly thin bezels, it won’t come as a surprise if Samsung decided to do the same.

According to previous rumors on the handset, Samsung is planning on releasing it with a 5.3-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution, which is in line with what we ca see in the aforementioned leaked photo.

Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy F is rumored to be launched with a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor inside, as well as with 3GB of RAM, for increased performance capabilities.

On top of that, the phone should sport a 16-megapixel camera on the back, with Optical Image Stabilization. The same as the camera on Galaxy S5, it should be capable of recording videos in 4K resolution.

Samsung Galaxy F is rumored to arrive on the market only sometime in September, most probably slated for an IFA 2014 announcement. Provided that things are indeed so, we might be able to learn some additional details on the device before it goes official.

In the meantime, we should note that no official confirmation on the phone has been provided as of now, and that you should take the info above with a big grain of salt.

After all, although Samsung was rumored before to plan the release of a premium version of Galaxy S5, namely the Galaxy S5 Prime, nothing has happened in this regard. In fact, some of the latest reports on this suggest that this phone will never arrive, and that Galaxy F will be released instead.

One way or the other, some more solid details on this premium device might arrive sooner rather than later, so stay tuned to learn the news.
