Samsung officially introduced the mid-range Galaxy Core Advance last year in December and confirmed that the smartphone would go on sale sometime in early 2014.

Well, it looks like today is the day when the Galaxy Core Advance goes on sale, so Android fans looking for an affordable mid-range smartphone may want to give this one a try.

The good news is that Samsung Galaxy Core Advance costs only $385 (€280) outright, but the bad news is that, for the time being, it is only available in South Korea.

According to SammyHub, the handset is now offered by major carrier SK Telecom in Deep Blue and Pearl White color options.

The Galaxy Core Advance is a mid-range smartphone, so don’t expect any impressive features. In addition, the device packs some specific services and apps that are only available in South Korea.

Unfortunately, there’s no telling whether or not Samsung will bring the Galaxy Core Advance to other countries as well, though it might go on sale in additional regions under different names and hardware configurations.

For the time being, it’s been confirmed that the smartphone ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and a decent dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Core Advance boasts a large 4.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. In addition, it packs a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

On the inside, the smartphone features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

Last but not least, Samsung Galaxy Core Advance is powered by a 2000 mAh battery and provides a wide range of connectivity options, including 3G, Wi-Fi. Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS support and microUSB.
