Announced right before the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 opened its doors in Las Vegas back in January, the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 is now available for purchase in South Korea.

Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 features a 16.3MP BSI CMOS image sensor and an even more powerful 1.6GHz quad-core processor than the previous model (1.4GHz). Moreover, the camera packs twice the memory of the original Galaxy Camera, with 2GB of RAM (1GB of RAM previously).

In terms of optics, the Galaxy Camera 2 comes with a 35mm equivalent focal length 23-483mm 21x optical zoom lens with a maximum aperture of f/2.8-5.9. On the back of the camera, you can find a generous 121.2mm (4.8-inch) HD Super Clear Touch LCD display monitor that gives you quick access to all the applications and camera functions you want to use.

Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 can now be purchased in South Korea at a price of 499,000 won / $465 / €340, while in the US it will be available starting March 1, at a price of $449.99 / €330.

Recently, the South Korean manufacturer also announced the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 in India, but pricing and availability are still unknown for this market.
