The Canadian carrier Telus has recently added Samsung Galaxy Apollo on its 'coming soon' webpage. Those expecting a Samsung Galaxy S device will probably be disappointed, as this is just a mid-entry version of the highly-acclaimed smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Apollo comes with a TFT LCD 3.2-inch HVGA (240 x 400 pixels resolution) display, 3.0-megapixel camera, 150 MB internal memory, as well as a 2 GB microSD card included in the sales package. The space storage can be expanded up to 32GB, thanks to the microSD card slot included.

The smartphone measures 113.5 x 54.5 x 12.5 mm and weighs 113g (including battery). It is compatible 3G HSPA 850 / 1900 (3.6 Mbps), and quad-band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900.

Galaxy Apollo is powered by Android 2.1 (Eclair)and features an ARM11 667MHz CPU.

The device can be synchronized with the PC using Samsung Kies application. Other connectivity features include Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, microUSB 2.0, as well as GPS with AGPS support.

Available services with Samsung Galaxy Apollo include: Ringtones & images, TELUS mobile radio, TELUS mobile music, Instant messaging, Video messaging, Web browsing, Games, Text messaging, Picture messaging, Email.

TELUS mobile TV service is not available for Samsung Galaxy Apollo. These services are only available via subscription, included in a package, or pay-per-use, so additional charges might apply.

Additional services offered by Telus include: Airtime Summary Notification, Detailed Billing, Do Not Disturb, Global Roaming, Nights & Weekends, Payment Receipt Notification, Roadside assistance, Special Phone Numbers, US roaming, Vacation Disconnect, Visual voicemail.

Of course, some of these services are either included in a rate plan or package or are added individually, so you might have additional charges which apply.

For the moment there's no information regarding the possible costs of the rate plans, neither the launching date of the smartphone.
