Samsung announced the upcoming global availability of the Galaxy Ace Plus several days ago. The company confirmed that the first country to get the Android-based smartphone would be Russia, followed by other countries in Europe.

Although Russian Android fans will be able to get the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus starting January 2012, UK-based customers will have the chance to grab the smartphone only a few weeks later.

According to major retailer Expansys, Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus will be arriving in its stores in the week starting February 13. Moreover, the smartphone is now up for pre-order via Expansys UK for only £249.99 (285 USD or 305 EUR).

Even though the retailer does not reveal the exact release date of the Galaxy Ace Plus, customers are advised to “keep an eye on the site for the exact arrival date and price closer to the time.”

Those who are not familiar with the Galaxy Ace Plus’ specs sheet should know that this is a slightly upgraded Galaxy Ace, which was released about a year ago.

In this regard, the Plus variant comes with an improved 1 GHz single-core processor and a newer Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. In comparison, the standard Galaxy Ace is equipped with an 800 MHz processor and it was launched with Android 2.2 Froyo on board.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Ace Plus embeds a slightly smaller 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery, whereas the Galaxy Ace features a 1350 mAh battery. Still, the difference seems negligible.

Obviously, both smartphones feature HSDPA (7.2Mbps) support, as well as GPRS and EDGE. In addition, each device sports a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus and video recording capabilities.

It is also worth mentioning that the Galaxy Ace Plus comes with more memory: 3GB storage, 512MB of RAM, and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
