The Indian smartphone market is one of the most prolific in the world, especially when it comes to Android handsets released monthly. There are literally hundreds of smartphones that go on sale in India each month, as many native OEMs are trying to lure customers with their products.

The competition is fierce and well-known brands such as Nokia, Samsung, LG, HTC and Apple have to aggressively price their products if they want to remain competitive on the Indian market.

For example, one of the most popular mid-range Android smartphones launched recently in the country, Motorola Moto E, was quickly followed by a wave a similarly specced smartphones, but priced slightly lower.

Obviously, these devices didn’t stop Motorola from selling a load truck of Moto E units in India, but the smartphone could have been even more popular.

Anyway, after Motorola Moto E’s tremendous success in India, another major handset maker plans to introduce a cheap Android smartphone in the country, Samsung.

The South Korean company is expected to introduce the Samsung Galaxy Ace NXT smartphone on the Indian market in the coming days.

The device has yet to be officially announced by Samsung, but Indian retailer Mahesh Telecom reports it will soon have the Galaxy Ace NXT in stock for only Rs 7,399 ($125 / €90) outright.

The good news is Samsung Galaxy Ace NXT will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box. Sadly, the smartphone seems to be equipped with a very low 1.2GHz single-core Spreadtrum SC7715 processor, which is complemented by a Mali-400 graphics processing unit.

The phone’s specs were spotted recently at GFXBench website by Indian blog site fonearena, so there’s no telling if this is the final version of the Galaxy Ace NXT or Samsung plans to improve on its current features.

It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone will be packed with only 4GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand its storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

There are no details on the phone’s display, but we suspect it will sport a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display. We also know the Galaxy Ace NXT should sport a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and dual-SIM capability, with dual standby support.

An exact release date for the Galaxy Ace NXT is not yet available, but those interested should know that the smartphone will be available for purchase in both black and white colors.
