The Samsung A family is shaping up quite nicely

Samsung announced not so long ago two smartphones from the Galaxy A series, the A3 and A5 but they aren’t available for purchase just yet.

However, these aren’t going to be the only models in the upcoming A lineup, as Samsung is apparently working on the A7 model, which is going to be the most feature-packed of all.

The handset has already been spotted going through the FCC (aka Federal Communications Commission) so we can expect Samsung will make an official announcement sometime in the near future.

Samsung Galaxy A7 spec leak-out, round II

But so far we’ve had a slight idea regarding the specs of the upcoming A7. Now things are getting clearer thanks to the folks at Sam Mobile who managed to get their hands on a set of specs for the upcoming device.

According to their source, the Galaxy A7 will arrive with a 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution and this configuration will be available for all markets, not just a select few.

Breathing life into the top-tier will be an Exynos 5433 chipset, which is the same model powering the current Galaxy Note 4 flagship. By the way, the Note 4 is rumored to get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 treatment soon, too bad we’ll only be able to see it in South Korea.

This aspect naturally suggests that the Galaxy A7 won’t go on sale for an affordable price as the Galaxy A3 and A5 are rumored to be. Even so, some people will still find it puzzling that Samsung has chosen to implement the Exynos 5433, which is its best chip into the non-flagship device such as this.

The Exynos 5433 is a processor that offers 1.8GHz clock higher-power Cortex-A57 cores and 1.3GHz for the A53 cores handling the basic tasks.

Exynos 5433 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 615?

Anyway, you might be aware that previous rumors claimed the smartphone will bundle a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset. It could mean Samsung is prepping multiple variants, but the Snapdragon 615 isn’t really a high-end chipset like the Exynos 5433, so the discrepancy will be a little big.

However, given the fact that the Exynos 5433 sports LTE connectivity, Samsung does no longer need to turn to Qualcomm to get this feature onboard of its handsets.

As for the rest of the specifications, the Galaxy A7 will also bundle 2GB of RAM, two cameras (13MP on the back and 5MP up in front), 16GB of internal storage, a 2600 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

The phone is expected to weight 150 g / 0.33 lbs, while its dimensions are 150 x 75 x 6.3 mm / 5.9 x 2.9 x 0.24 inches. So watch out for it, as the A7 is shaping up to be one of Sammy’s thinnest phones.
