Samsung Germany just announced that the Samsung Galaxy 3 i5800 smartphone will be available at the end of July. After spreading its high-end Galaxy S smartphone to all major carriers in the United States, the Korean company is now focusing on its mid-budget brother – Galaxy 3. The phone is also known as Samsung Apollo i5801, Samsung Galaxy Naos for Orange UK, or Samsung Galaxy Teos.

Samsung Galaxy 3 runs Android 2.1 (Eclair) OS and is powered by a 667 MHz processor. It also features a medium-sized 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen (240 x 400 pixels) with 16 Million colors support. The smartphone includes accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, multi-touch input method.

Users can also take advantage of all Google services, which are also pre-installed and optimized for mobile use. This includes Google Search with Voice Search, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Talk, Android Market, as well as YouTube. In addition, the device offers access to Samsung Apps, the marketplace for mobile applications of all kinds, which were developed specifically for Samsung mobile phones.

Other highlights of the smartphone include: 3.2-megapixel camera (geo-tagging, face and motion detection), GPRS and EDGE class 10, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, GPS with A-GPS support, and Digital compass.

The phone embeds 170 MB internal memory, a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32 GB), as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack and media player with DivX support, which makes the Galaxy 3 Samsung I5800 an advanced multimedia all-rounder.

The Samsung I5800 Galaxy 3 is available end of July in Germany. The suggested retail price is 299 €.
