Samsung has been long rumored to be on its way to bring to shelves a new flavor of its Samsung Galaxy Tab Android-based tablet PC, and it seems that the device might have just received certification from Bluetooth SIG.

A Samsung Mobile Tablet sporting model number GT-P1003 has appeared on Bluetooth.org, and this device might very soon prove to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 that could be unveiled officially at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month.

The upcoming device includes Bluetooth 2.1+EDR connectivity, and received the necessary approvals on January 28th, 2011.

No other details were made available on the upcoming tablet PC, but it might all become official in about two weeks from now.

Some of the previous rumors on this device suggested that Samsung would release it on shelves with the same form factor as the original Galaxy Tab. This means that it might include a 7-inch screen too, though of a better quality.

The tablet's internals, however, are expected to be greatly improved, most probably with a dual-core application processor replacing the single core one.

At the same time, the new device might include an upgraded GPU, as well as increased internal memory, and better connectivity options.

No official confirmation on the existence of Galaxy Tab 2 emerged for the time being, but we'll keep our fingers crossed for Samsung to unveil the device officially at MWC.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Samsung announced recently that the original Galaxy Tab managed to ship in over 2 million units already, which makes it pretty popular among end users.

However, since 2011 is expected to be the year of tablet PCs, Samsung would certainly have to do better than that, and the new Galaxy Tab 2 would have to impress a lot to allow its maker gain market share. Stay tuned to learn more on this device.
