It might be a Tizen-based phone, or a new Android device

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is reportedly gearing up for the launch of new high-end devices, and one of them might have emerged on its website with model number GT-I9500X attached to it.

Previously, GT-I9500 was said to arrive on shelves as a Tizen OS-based handset from the company, since it sports the same model number as the developer device made available about a year ago with this platform loaded on it.

Initially said to never arrive on shelves as a commercial product, GT-I9500 might actually see public availability, especially now that Samsung’s website makes reference to it.

What’s yet uncertain is whether the smartphone will run under Tizen or Android when released. Some rumors on the matter suggested before that it might actually prove to be yet another high-end smartphone running under Google’s OS, although nothing has been confirmed on this as of now.
