We first heard about Samsung Galaxy Stellar back in April when the smartphone showed up in benchmarks with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system onboard.

Although the device leaked as Samsung Jasper, there's a high chance that this is in fact the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Stellar.

More details on the Galaxy Stellar surfaced earlier this week and now we know that the phone will hit shelves at Verizon Wireless as intended.

According to a Verizon internal document published by Droid-Life, customers will be able to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Stellar for only $99.99 USD (€80) after a $50 USD mail-in rebate and with a new two-year agreement.

Those who do not wish to commit to a long-term contract will have to come up with no less than $499.99 USD (€400) upfront in order to purchase the Galaxy Stellar.

Some may wonder why a mid-range device would cost so much, but from previous leaks we found out that the Galaxy Stellar is a mix of mid- and high-end features, which makes it pretty versatile.

For example, the smartphone is said to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. It will also come with a WVGA capacitive touchscreen display of unknown size, which is rumored to support 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Samsung Galaxy Stellar features full 4G LTE support for Verizon's network, which is another strong point of the device.

What's curious about the Galaxy Stellar is the fact that it comes with an “easy-to-use Starter mode & on-device help.” In addition, the phone is advertised along with Amazon's Appstore, instead of the usual Google Play Store.

For the time being, we cannot confirm whether or not the Galaxy Stellar will provide access to both applications stores or Samsung decided to drop Google for this one time. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
