South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is already storming the market with its latest Android-based flagship device, the Galaxy S III, but it seems that the company actually wants more from it.

Thus, it announced that its device was designed to provide support for enterprise users as well, through a SAFE – Samsung Approved for Enterprise – version.

Basically, we are talking about the same smartphone that was made official in the beginning of May, but with a series of optimizations to make it fit for business use.

“GALAXY S III provides a world-class mobile security solution for all enterprise mobility environments. It introduces the MDM solution that supports 338 IT policies (GALAXY S II supports approximately 95 IT policies) to create and manage a better mobile environment,” Samsung notes on its website.

“In particular, it has security module obtained FIPS 140-2 certification, the highest security accredited by the US federal government, which provides a reliable security solution to business users.”

Moreover, it was packed with the Samsung ODE solution, which was meant to prevent leaks of trade secrets through offering the possibility to avert identity theft and data loss.

The smartphone arrives with integrated enterprise messaging and with support for various VPN protocols, so as to deliver a great mobile work environment for business users.

“Employees are able to securely access corporate systems, such as e-mail, ERP, and CRM, which allows them to work anywhere at any time and complete the same tasks as if they were in their offices,” Samsung explains.

The handset also enables real-time messaging with colleagues through the use of MS Exchange ActiveSync. Moreover, the phone meets the requirements for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) implementation.

It can deliver a virtualization environment with support for Cisco, Citrix and VMWare solutions, so that users can access a corporate network from their own mobiles.

“Business users can use their own personally customized mobile devices for work and have a better work-life balance, which will improve their satisfaction and work efficiency. In addition, businesses can cut the costs of mobile devices and improve business productivity through business innovation,” Samsung notes.
