Samsung Canada and Virgin Mobile recently confirmed the Galaxy S III will arrive on the carrier’s airwaves at some point this summer.

Even though Samsung mentioned that the Galaxy S III will be available in the United States in the following month, the handset maker has yet to confirm the phone’s release date.

Canadians will surely be able to purchase the Galaxy S III, as Samsung noted the smartphone will be available from all carriers and leading retailers across the country.

Aside from the phone’s exact availability, Samsung has yet to unveil its specs sheet. We’re expecting the North American variant of the smartphone to come with a different hardware configuration.

Samsung Galaxy S III is expected to hit shelves in Europe on May 30, but the device won’t be packed with LTE technology.

Rumor has it that the Samsung Galaxy S III will arrive at Sprint with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset inside, while others claim Rogers’ version will be equipped with “LTE and Samsung’s new Exynos processor.”

The Galaxy S III boasts an impressive 4.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with PenTile matrix, which supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

Hardware-wise, Samsung Galaxy S III has been confirmed as one of the most powerful Android smartphones on the market. The device is equipped with an Exynos 4212 Quad chipset that packs a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and a Mali-400MP GPU.
