Samsung already confirmed that the Galaxy S III would be available in Canada beginning this month through multiple operators and leading retailers.

Regional carrier Videotron has just kicked off Samsung Galaxy S III presale, and the smartphone is priced lower than expected.

Videotron previously announced that the Galaxy S III would be available for purchase for a reduced price of $149.95 CAD. However, it appears that for a limited time Videotron will offer Samsung’s Android flagship phone for as low as $ 99.95 CAD.

Unfortunately, there’s no telling exactly when the handset’s price will be upped back to $149.95 CAD, so customers who wish take advantage of this offer should hurry and check out Videotron’s Galaxy S III here.

Videotron is thrilled to be releasing this exceptional handset for its customers, enhancing its device selection with the addition of a superior-quality phone,” said Marie Ginette Lepage, vice president, Product Development.

According to the carrier, Samsung Galaxy S III will go on sale on June 20, but there’s a chance that customers who pre-purchase it will receive it one or two days earlier.

The North American variant of Galaxy S III features a slightly different hardware configuration, so Canadians should expect this one to come with a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon CPU and an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit.

In addition, the smartphone will boast 2GB of RAM, whereas the European version only packs 1GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the Galaxy S III sports LTE support and a controversial 4.8-inch Super AMOLED (PenTile) capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD resolution (720 x 1280 pixels). The phone’s display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

Last but not least, the smartphone comes with a high-capacity 2,100 mAh Li-Ion battery, 16GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).
