Mobile phone carrier Vodafone UK is among the first wireless operators in the world to make available on its airwaves two new devices from Samsung, namely the GALAXY S II and GALAXY Tab 10.1, both of which were officially announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

Soon after their official introduction, the carrier unveiled plans to add these two devices to its offering, and it even put on its website coming soon pages for them, here and here, respectively.

The GALAXY S II was unveiled a few days ago as the successor of last year's popular Galaxy S smartphone, with Google's new Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on board.

The new smartphone arrives on shelves with a 1GHz dual-core application processor packed inside, to provide users with increased performance levels when compared to the original device, and with a larger, 4.3-inch super AMOLED touchscreen.

The specifications list of this handset shows that Samsung packed it with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities, as well as with a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera that should enable users easily place video calls.

The phone would also include all of the usual connectivity options, along with a microSD memory card slot for expanding the available storage space, all inside a device which is only 8.49mm thin, and which measures 116 grams.

As for the GALAXY Tab 10.1, it was unveiled at MWC as Samsung's first tablet PC to run under Google's Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system.

The device was launched in a partnership between Samsung and Vodafone, the latter being committed to launch the tablet in 20 markets or so.

“The exciting new Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 is the powerful new tablet featuring Android 3.0 Honeycomb. And it's coming soon - exclusively to Vodafone. Register your interest from Monday 14th February and we'll let you know as soon as you can pre-order yours,” the carrier notes on its website.
