It’s almost a year since the first rumors on Samsung Galaxy S II Plus surfaced for the first time and the South Korean company has yet to confirm the upcoming launch of the smartphone.

There have been quite a high number of rumors surrounding the Galaxy S II Plus, though none of the information leaked regarding the release of the device was accurate.

Today, Android enthusiasts wondering what happened with the illusive Samsung Galaxy S II Plus will be happy to know that it’s now up for grabs in South America.

Chilean carrier VTR currently offers the smartphone for 720 USD (585 EUR) off-contract. Check it out here.

Moreover, the operator unveils the Galaxy S II Plus full specs, which is why we’re wondering if this is not a rebranded version of the Galaxy S II available at T-Mobile USA.

However, unlike the T-Mobile-bounded Galaxy S II, this “Plus” model comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box. The former was previously shipped with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread platform and got an ICS update afterwards.

Furthermore, the smartphone comes with a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 16 million color. Corning Gorilla Glass coating is included as well, along with four touch sensitive keys.

On the inside, the alleged Galaxy S II Plus comes equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, which is accompanied by an Adreno 200 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

There’s also 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Last but not least, Samsung Galaxy S II Plus boasts an enhanced 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
