Bad news for those who were waiting for Samsung to go official with the smaller version of Galaxy S 4, as the smartphone has been reportedly delayed.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini was initially rumored to hit shelves at the end of May but, according to SamMobile, the South Korean company decided to delay the device for week 29.

This means the release of the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini has been pushed back until mid-July.

No additional details have been provided on the reasons behind this delay, but it may have something to do with the upcoming launch of Samsung’s flagship smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 has been confirmed to arrive in more than 30 countries later this month, even though the smartphone has been initially slated for release in a few countries.

We reported yesterday Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini has been recently spotted in an agent user source code, which confirms its existence but does not shed any light on the phone’s release date.

However, there have been lots of rumors around the Galaxy S 4 mini’s specs sheet, so we already know the smartphone’s preliminary specifications.

In this regard, there’s a high chance Samsung Galaxy S 4 mini will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, just like its bigger brother.

On the inside, the smartphone is said to be equipped with a 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB, 16GB or 32GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

The device may sport a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

It appears that Samsung will launch two versions of Galaxy S 4 mini, a single-SIM model and a dual-SIM variant. A third LTE version has been leaked recently as well. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
