We reported two days ago on the upcoming release of Galaxy Pop in South Korea and now Samsung has just made the smartphone official.

The Korean version of Galaxy Premier will hit shelves in the next few days for no less than 700,000 won outright, which is about $645 or €475.

According to SammyHub, Samsung Galaxy Pop will be bundled with a flip cover in the sales package at no extra charge.

It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone will be available in gray, white, and orange colors at launch, but additional flavors may be released in the future.

Even though it appears that Samsung Galaxy Pop (SHV-E220S) is aimed at youngsters, it will be hard for the smartphone to become popular among this type of customers due to the pretty high price.

However, the Galaxy Pop comes with pretty powerful hardware that makes it all worth it. In this regard, Android enthusiasts will be happy to know that the smartphone is equipped with a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor and a Mali-400MP graphics processing unit.

Moreover, the smartphone boasts a stunning 4.65-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution.

Samsung Galaxy Pop comes with 1GB of RAM and 8 / 16GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

On the back, the smartphone sports an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary 2-megapixel camera for video calls.

The South Korean version of Samsung Galaxy Premier also comes embedded with DMB-T TV tuner, as well as LTE and NFC support.

Software-wise, the Galaxy Pop will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, along with the complete Samsung suite of apps and services, including Hubs, S Beam, Popup Play, Smart Stay and more.
