Samsung unveiled both Galaxy Pocket Neo and Galaxy Star budget-friendly smartphones during a Samsung Forum in South Africa, about two weeks ago.

However, the company did not reveal too much info on the smartphones’ specs sheet, availability and pricing at that time.

Today, the South Korean company has officially announced that both Galaxy Pocket Neo and Galaxy Star smartphones will be available in select markets in the next few weeks.

Although there’s no word on price tag, given the fact that these are entry-level phones, they should not cost more than €150/$190 off contract.

More importantly, both smartphones offer dual-SIM capability, but the availability of the single-SIM version or the dual-SIM version for each phone varies by market.

Samsung GALAXY Star and GALAXY Pocket Neo take advantage of the Always On feature, which allows users to call forward any calls to the other SIM even while they are on the phone using the other one.

Aside from that, both phones come integrated with an enhanced UX called Quick Panel and Widget, allowing users to switch SIMs directly from the home screen.

In addition, users can also choose one of the numbers while sending a text message as there are two different sending buttons for two numbers on the same page.

Hardware-wise, Samsung Galaxy Star and Galaxy Pocket Neo are equipped with a 1GHz and 850 MHz processor, respectively. Both handsets pack 4GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo and Galaxy Star sport 3-inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen displays, 2-megapixel rear cameras and 512MB of RAM.

They’re also powered by similar 1,200 mAh Li-Ion batteries and feature Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, FM Radio with RDS and A-GPS with GLONASS.

Software-wise, Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo and Galaxy Star will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.
