It looks like previous rumors regarding Samsung skipping Android 4.2.2 update for Galaxy Note II were true after all.

Australian carrier Telstra has just confirmed on its update blog site that Samsung has decided to globally skip the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean upgrade for Galaxy Note II.

That doesn’t mean that Samsung Galaxy Note II owners will be stuck on the current Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, as the South Korean company will offer a newer version of the platform, namely Android 4.3.

Even though the carrier does not say that the newer Android version that will arrive on Galaxy Note II is 4.3, it’s safe to assume that Samsung will indeed push this iteration to phablet owners.

According to Telstra, no schedule has been provided for Android 4.3 update for Galaxy Note II, but we expect Samsung to come forward with an official statement in the next couple of weeks.
