As expected, Samsung has just announced the upcoming availability of the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet in the United States.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 was spotted a few days ago at Office Depot with a $400/€305 price tag attached to it, but the tablet was listed as “Out of Stock.”

Today, the South Korean company has officially launched the Galaxy Note 8.0 in the United States and has confirmed that the tablet will be available starting April 11 for $400/€305.

According to Samsung, the slate will be available in stores and online at retailers such as Amazon, BestBuy, Newegg, P.C. Richard & Son, Staples and TigerDirect.com.

The table was confirmed to arrive packed with a powerful 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

The 8-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports 800 x 1280 pixels (189ppi) and 16 million colors. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is powered by a high-capacity 4600 mAh battery and sports a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera on the back that can shoot 1080p video.

There’s also a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera that can handle video chats at 720p resolution.

Samsung has also confirmed that the Galaxy Note 8.0 is the first to feature its own WatchON search and recommendation service that makes finding TV shows and on-demand video content faster and easier.

Potential customers should know that Galaxy Note 8.0 accessories will be available from mid-April. These include Book Covers and USB and HDMI adapters, as well as a travel charger.

“With the Galaxy Note 8.0, we fully expect to ignite the mid-size tablet market Samsung pioneered with the first Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy Note 8.0 is small enough to fit in your pocket or purse and packs the power needed for full mobile entertainment and productivity,” said Travis Merrill, vice president of Samsung Electronics America, Inc.
