Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Fame duos back in February at Mobile World Congress, but the smartphone has yet to go on sale in India.
However, Android enthusiasts in India won’t have to wait too long to be able to grab this affordable dual-SIM smartphone, as AndroidOS reports that Samsung plans to launch the devices in the country pretty soon.
Along with the Galaxy Fame duos, Samsung will also release another dual-SIM smartphone – the Galaxy Win duos, which was officially announced earlier this month. For the time being, both Android phones are available for purchase via Indian retailer Mahesh Telecom.
Those who wish to buy the Galaxy Fame duos will have to come up with Rs 10,999 ($200/€155) upfront.
The Galaxy Win duos is more expensive, as Android fans will have to pay no less than Rs 18,300 outright, which is about $335 or €255.
We expect that both dual-SIM smartphones will be available for purchase at multiple Indian retailers, as soon as Samsung officially introduces the devices in the country.
For those unfamiliar with the phones’ specs sheet, Galaxy Fame duos comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper, VGA front-facing camera and 1,300 mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy Fame duos will ship with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.
It also packs a 1GHz single-core processor, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).
The Galaxy Win duos is powered by the same Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform and packs a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 203 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
The smartphone sports a 4.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, a 5-megapixel main camera, secondary VGA camera for video calls, 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
