Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus was officially announced in early January and is already available for purchase in various regions. Although India is not among these regions, it won’t be long until Indian customers are able to grab this Android phone.

The smartphone has just been listed by major retailer Flipkart with a March 21 release date attached to it. Customers who wish to pre-order the Galaxy Ace Plus can do so for only Rs 16275 (325 USD or 245 EUR) outright.

The Galaxy Ace Plus made quite an impression at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, but still lags behind when it comes to hardware configuration.

Keep in mind that this is not a top tier Android-based smartphone, so don’t expect anything close to spectacular other than the stylish design.

The phone is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz user interface on top. It is equipped with a 1GHz single-core processor manufactured by Qualcomm, and an old Adreno 200 graphics processing unit.

On the inside, the smartphone packs 3GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). The phone drains energy from a standard 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery.

Although the phone’s hardware configuration meets Android 4.0 requirements, there’s no telling if Samsung will ever deploy an Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy Ace Plus.

A 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash is also included, along with HSDPA and Wi-Fi support. Among other connectivity options offered by Galaxy Ace Plus, one would notice Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB, GPS with A-GPS support, DLNA function and Wi-Fi hotspot.

Access to more than 400,000 apps via Google Play is available as well, along with Google’s full suite of apps and services, such as Gmail, Gtalk, YouTube, Google Search and Maps.
