Samsung F700 Live - Video Tease

- One of the iPhone contenders

By: Sergiu Gatlan, Communications News Editor

If you thought the iPhone will not have a serious adversary on the mobile market, this year at least, you were wrong as Samsung proved in less than a month after the iPhone was unveiled by Steve Jobs during its keynote at MacWorld, on January 9th.

The Samsung F700 has been officially introduced by Samsung on February 8th, and it
has been presented as a direct response to Apple's handset (although Samsung never admitted that). The Korean mobile phone manufacturer has admitted though that the iPhone will be the thing to infuse the mobile market with a lot of innovative looking cellphone designs, most of them trying to have a spec sheet to top the one of the Apple handset.

I don't know if the Samsung representative has foreseeing abilities or not but, exactly like he predicted, almost every important mobile phone manufacturer on the market came out with a response to what Apple has described as a 5 year ahead revolutionary communication device.

I don't know what your opinion is on this subject but I think they did a good job and, despite some of the handsets having a design almost exactly as the iPhone's (talking about the Meizu miniOne here), the majority of them did bring their own improvements to the "whole touchscreen" kind of devices Apple has imagined to be the future of cellphones.

Some of you would agree with me saying Apple was the first one to think about making a handset with no mechanical interface but only with a large touchscreen. Others might rise and say LG was the first one which had this idea and their LG KE850 device is the thing to prove it. I have to say I haven't yet made my mind on this subject so I leave each and everyone of you to decide who was the first to take a touchscreen and say that it’s enough to make a cellphone.

Samsung's F700 cellphone didn't yet have an official presentation but I did find a video of it in the hands of a lady with a very nice manicure :). For now this is the only movie featuring the F700 in "action" so take a look down bellow this article and feel free to make your own decision on its chances to beat the iPhone or the LG Prada.
