First in France, then in other European countries

Samsung announced today the (almost) immediate availability of F400, its newest mobile phone that comes with advanced music features and a sleek dual sliding design. The handset's existence was first revealed a few months ago, but no details about its release were given. Well, now it's official that the F400 will hit the market this month.

Since the F400 is a music phone, Samsung armed it with pretty cool audio-related features, including: Bang & Olufsen ICEpower technology, Smart Bass, Smart Limiter, DNSe 2.0 (Digital Natural Sound engine), a music recognition capability (bringing in mind Sony Ericsson's TrackID), dual stereo speakers (unveiled when the handset is slid up), a 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio with RDS and, of course, special dedicated music keys.

To make sure users have enough space for their favorite music, Samsung offers the F400 with a free 1GB memory card. Moreover, those who find 1GB to be insufficient can change the card with another one of up to 8GB.

The rest of the features packed in Samsung F400 are also quite attractive. We have tri-band GSM connectivity, plus HSDPA 2100 for data transfer speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps, a 2.2 inch display with 256K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, a 3 Meapixel camera with auto focus, flash and video recording, Bluetooth and USB (both being the 2.0 version), email and Web capabilities - all in a nicely designed slider case that measures 103 x 48 x 16.9 millimeters (when closed, of course).

Samsung didn't announce yet the retail price of F400, but we do know the handset will be available in France in a couple of days, with other European countries to follow shortly. In the UK, for example, F400 should be released on the 19th of May, were we to believe the handset's presentation page from Carphone Warehouse's website (click here to view it). After Europe, Samsung will launch its new music slider in Asia and the Middle East. North and South America are apparently not in the South Korean producer's plans, which is kind of unfair for mobile users living there.
