It claims that the handset does the same for all full screen apps

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 is seen by many as one of the best smartphones out there, yet recent reports have suggested that the handset might actually pack a series of tweaks that would increase its performance when a benchmarking application is launched, so as to boost scores.

However, Samsung claims that this is not the case and that this is the manner in which the device acts at all times when a full screen application is launched, BGR reports.

The smartphone is said to act similarly when the video player, the camera, the browser or games are opened, and that the same applies to any software that covers up the Android status bar when launched.

However, string codes found on the device specifically mentioned benchmarking applications such as Quadrant, Linpack, GLBenchmark and Antutu as being targeted by an increase in CPU and GPS clock speeds, a fact that Samsung did not comment on, it seems.
