One of the biggest highlights at MWC 2015 so far was Samsung unveiling its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge flagship smartphones.

The Korean tech giant has put a lot of effort and dedication into building its latest premium handsets, which shouldn’t come as a surprise given that the company’s previous flagship, the Galaxy S5, didn’t impress customers much.

Actually, the Galaxy S5 was considered a flop, so the Korean phone maker was forced to really think about novel solutions to revitalize its Galaxy S brand.

As we saw a few days ago, Samsung took a hefty step into the right direction. The Galaxy S6 duo sure look like the company’s best efforts and Sammy is quite proud of the result as well.

The Galaxy S6 might be Samsung's salvation

Now DigiTimes reports that Samsung has great expectations for the Galaxy S6. According to the company’s own General Manager for Mobile Communication Business in Taiwan, Andy Tu, they are expecting the Galaxy S6 to outsell Samsung’s bestselling phone to date, the Galaxy S4.

Apparently, Tu bases his statement on the positive feedback the two phones have received so far. 2014 wasn’t really a great year for Samsung, as the company saw its market share drop in several territories across the world.

Most of the decline was blamed on the Galaxy S5 failure, but Sammy has learned a lot from the criticism received regarding the product, and it actively improved on it.

One of the biggest culprits for the Galaxy S5 failure was the cheap plastic build, which didn’t really make the handset feel premium enough for a flagship.

Well, the Galaxy S6 changes everything in terms of construction, because Samsung finally said goodbye to plastic in favor of bringing glass and metal into the equation.

However, the Galaxy S6 is not without fault, as the phone lacks a microSD card and bundles a non-removable battery. It will also be incredibly expensive.

In the upcoming period, Samsung is expected to focus on promoting its latest flagship models, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 4, as well as the metal-clad Galaxy A series and mid-range Galaxy E family.
